I have never considered myself a fan of reality TV. After all, there is nothing realistic about these shows, with the exception of the Osbournes. With this show, Ozzy invites you in to see how he and his family live. These other reality based shows are based on someones warped idea of reality, so I dont waste my time watching them. However, my curiosity occasionally gets the best of me, so tonight I will tune in to watch Joe Millionaire to see what happens when Evan chooses between 2 desperate bitches and reveals to one of them that he is in fact, not a millionaire. Like many people, I did not care much for the idea of this shows plot when they first revealed what this show would be about. But my distaste doesnt stem from the fact that these poor, misguided women are being lied to. In a way, I thought the whole thing was rather humorous. What else could they expect? I just hate the idea that people honestly believe that truthfulness, trust and love could ever evolve from something like this. I hate how these women display themselves on television as romantic victims. They claim its heart breaking to see the man they love in the arms of other women and all that other shit they fucking whine about. They sit in front of millions week after week, with violins playing in the background, and attest their love for this man, bragging about how kind and gentle and pure he is. Yet, when these same women are ousted the following week, suddenly hes a lying, disgusting creature with more flaws than any human should ever have. Do they really expect to have him feel the same way for them? When you put a guy in a house with 20 women who spend day after day flaunting what God did not give them, do they honestly expect to be taken seriously? Does any one of them really believe they are any more unique than the other 19? Hell no. A man living with 20 women is going to see just that, 20 women. That is probably the only realistic thing about this show. So, tonight will be a 2 hour finale of Evan making the tough choice between a substitute teacher, which, loosely translated, means unemployed more often than not, and an ex bondage video queen, which, loosely translated, means she was an over paid hooker with an audience. Apparently even that was too challenging for her. After the pure hearted choice is made, he will then have to confess that he is not an heir to 50 million dollars, but rather a construction worker who makes $19,000 a year. That is barley over $9 an hour. We all know what is inevitably going to happen. Hes going to confess this deep dark secret that was fabricated by Fox, and the lucky lady that has stolen his heart will be devastated by this betrayal. We all know it isnt the betrayal thats going to piss her off. Its the fact that the pockets her gold digging hands are going to be rummaging through arent as deep as she had hoped. So much for love. Gee, and we all thought this was going to work.
