When I set out to do this entry, I was initially going to do a cut and past from an email I received. The email was a comparison (or should I say contrast) between our leaders and the actors who have accused these leaders of being morons, ignorant and stupid. But instead I have decided to focus on one actor in particular, Michael Moore. Why did I single him out? Well, as many of you may have seen last night, he got up on stage at the Oscars and not only made a bigger ass out of himself, but pissed me right the fuck off in the process. All I have been hearing about is how everything will be toned down at this years ceremony out of respect for the troops who are over seas fighting to their death for us and these Hollywood also-rans who had the insolence to misuse this occasion for their own selfish gain. As you know, Michael Moore was nominated and somehow won the Oscar for his documentary, Bowling for Columbine. After this fat ass wobbled his way up to accept his award, he decided to throw tact and respect out the window and had this to say: "We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man who's sending us to war for fictitious reasons, whether it's the fiction of duct tape or the fiction of orange alerts. Wow! Very well said, if you understand gibberish. But what else can you expect from someone who dropped out of his first year at the University of Michigan-Flint? He then goes on to say, We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush. Shame on you." Were all against this war? The polls show that the majority of us are in support of this war, so Mr. Moore, please do not speak on behalf of those of us who have the ability to learn the facts and think for our self. Now, lets take a look at Mr. Moores accomplishments and at those of the shameful Mr. Bush. Again, Michael Moore dropped out of his freshman year at a low-level university because he couldnt hack it. President Bush Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Not only are both Universities more difficult to actually get into, but also they are difficult to stay in because you have to bust your ass to get an actual education from them. So, unlike Michael Moore who couldnt handle his less than competent education, and dropped out after less than a year, Bush received two degrees out of his education at these Ivy League schools. Bush served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard. He began his career in the oil and gas business in Midland in 1975 and worked in the energy industry until 1986. He was elected Governor on November 8, 1994, with 53.5 percent of the vote. In a historic re-election victory, he became the first Texas Governor to be elected to consecutive four-year terms on November 3, 1998 winning 68.6 percent of the vote. In 1998 Governor Bush won 49 percent of the Hispanic vote, 27 percent of the African-American vote, 27 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of women. He won more Texas counties, 240 of 254, than any modern Republican other that Richard Nixon in 1972 and is the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to win the heavily Hispanic and Democratic border counties of El Paso, Cameron and Hidalgo. Hmmm, that doesnt sound like the accomplishments of a fictitious person to me. It sounds to me like Mr. Moore may be displaying the green eye of envy over a president who is a hell of a lot more successful than Michael Moore could ever dream to be. Michael Moore is also the author of "Stupid White Men (an obvious reference to himself) ... And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation," which criticizes American politicians for favoring corporate wealth over public well-being. If he has a problem with having inappropriate means to making a buck, then why the hell did he exploit the tragedy of the Columbine shootings to make a quick buck for himself? I think the word hypocrite comes to mind. What this arrogant bastard fails to comprehend is that as bad as war is, it is sometimes necessary if we want the best for the people who occupy this planet. Apparently he doesnt realize that prior wars this country has fought is exactly what is giving him his right to voice his opinion (no matter how ignorant it is) they way he chose to do. I know I have said this before, but I think it bears repeating; if you are going to be so antiwar, then sacrifice the rights war has given you so that you no longer have to be a victim of war. Dont want to do that? I didnt think so. I would love to know what has made these celebrities such experts on what is going on in the world. Unlike President Bush and his Cabinet, these celebrities do not have intelligence-gathering agents who brief them hourly on what is going on in this world. Our leaders are privy to information that we civilians are not. The celebrities apparently feel that their overly saturated salary makes them all-knowing and apparently so does their experiences in drug abuse, alcoholism, divorce and numerous scandals. So in closing, I have a message for these Hollywood do-gooders; take your Oscars and shove them so far up your ass, itll take a missile to get it out.
