I read an interesting little article recently in which it mentioned how several illegal immigrants from Mexico crossed into the U.S. through a desolate mountain-desert area of Arizona. Apparently they chose this route to avoid detection which would lead to their capture and deportation. Fourteen of these immigrants died due to severe dehydration caused from the sweltering sun. Their families, who remained in Mexico, have filed a lawsuit for $42 million against the U.S. Interior Department for having failed to install water stations out in the middle of nowhere, where they are most needed, apparently.
I have thought this over a few times, trying to decide whether or not they have a valid complaint. I have come to the conclusion that if their lawsuit is valid and that we are in fact responsible for helping to aid people in breaking the law, then there are a few other areas in which we have a lot of changes to make as well. After all, we want to be fair, don�t we?
First of all, let�s go ahead and start with the water stations, since this is the cause of it all to begin with. We need to gather millions of dollars to build these water fountains and lay the plumbing out in the middle of Timbuktu so that the millions of people who find themselves trespassing there can have plenty to drink. We also need to build first-aid stations next to the watering stations in case of any mishaps such as someone burning their mouth on the mouthpiece or choking on water or in the event they get bitten by a poisonous snake. We also need to build concession stands where they can get sunscreen, insect repellent and snacks.
We need to supply our prisoners with keys to their cells in the event of an emergency or in the event they get bored or cramped up and want to wander about the prisons. After all, we don�t want our prisoners to be stuck some place they don�t want to be. How fair is that?
We need to supply cocaine, heroine, crack, PCP, etc, at all rehab centers and half-way houses because it isn�t fair for fiends to have to suffer from withdraw. We also need to supply them with needles, pipes and whatever else their choice of paraphernalia may be.
At AA meetings, we need to start supplying the members with alcohol as a refreshment since this is their preferred beverage. We�ll save the water for the immigrants.
Pedophiles will need to be supplied with kiddy porn. As a matter of fact, we should stop these websites that have the audacity to charge people to look at kiddy porn. It should be free, since it is now their right to possess these things.
We should make it legal for hunters to actually cage their prey in order to make it easier to carry on with their �sport�. No more of this �playing fair� shit. It�s only fair on the animals anyway.
Instead of busting hookers and johns, we should be giving them condoms and money for a decent hotel room so that they can have their little romantic episodes in comfortable privacy. Besides, getting arrested only ruins the mood.
I think we should all be required to leave guns under our door mats in the event that an unprepared burglar decides to break in. We wouldn�t want to be armed while the poor burglar has nothing, do we? That�s not quite fair.
I think we should also put the combination to all bank vaults right on the front door of the bank to make it easier for robbers to obtain the money they so rightfully deserve and let�s leave them a key to all armored vehicles in these vaults just in case they don�t find the needed amount of money in these safes.
Let�s also rid this country of the Amber Alert. These kidnappers have just as much right to these kids as do the kids� parents. After all, doesn�t it take a village to raise a child? These kidnappers are just trying to do their part.
These preceding statements are obviously drenched in sarcasm, but I am simply trying to state how stupid this lawsuit is and how I find it quite appalling that this shit is even allowed into our justice system. I have a problem with this frivolous shit in many ways. First of all, if we were to actually supply the immigrants with what they need to get here, then we may as well go ahead and do everything else I listed as well. Why is it our problem that they not only chose to enter illegally, but also chose a dangerous area in which to do it? Why the hell should we have to pay for their stupidity? Why should we have to pay when they could have supplied themselves with water before they left their little hell-hole? Why should we have to pay when they could have done it the legal way and apply for fucking citizenship? Thousands do it every day. I have no tolerance for people who abuse our court system, as many of you know, and this case is by far the most despicable one yet.
